Many people want to work out. But they complain that they are just too tired to exercise. Part of the problem may be that since you are not active to start with, you don't have enough energy to get active.
That sounds a little confusing because many people believe that exercising, in and of itself, is exhausting. However, if you do it right, you actually start to feel more energized over time. And you'll begin to feel better overall.
Workout Time And Intensity
If you want to be more energized, you have to incorporate a specific type of workout into your exercise plan. Keep it to about half an hour and engage in a moderate-intensity workout. If you go for longer than that or if you try and ramp up your intensity level, you could simply zap your energy for later.
What do you usually say when you miss a workout or choose not to exercise? More than likely, the words "I have no energy" or "I'm too busy" have come out of your mouth. If you are honest, you do have time to work out; you are just prioritizing other things in your life. If you can't find a solid block of 30 minutes to exercise, try working out three times per day for ten minutes a session.
Poor Food Selection
Food is your body's fuel, so if you don't eat right, you aren't going to have the energy you need to get through the day. Fast food is bad for you, as is processed food. Simple carbs can also be problematic because they make your blood sugar go dramatically up and down, and that affects your energy level.
Focus on getting the complex carbohydrates that your body needs to create energy. Ideally, you want to get fifty percent of your calories from carbs, thirty percent from protein, and twenty percent from healthy fats. Include a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits, fatty fish, lean meats, and whole grains in your meals.
Lack Of Sleep And Vitamin D Deficiency
Many people don't have energy because they are simply too tired to get through the day. Life is busy, and it is often hard to wind down from work and family life. While the recommendation is eight hours of sleep per night, most people do not get that much; in fact, only about 60 percent of Americans sleep more than seven hours a night. The right amount of sleep does a lot of great things for your body, allowing it to rejuvenate and repair itself. If you aren't getting the sleep you need, you will not feel energized.
Also, if you don't have the right amount of vitamin D in your body, you will not feel good. Sunlight can help you, but you can also take a supplement if you find that you can't get outside during the day. If you do have time in your schedule, try to enjoy the sunlight for about twenty minutes at a time.
Stress And Fatigue
You live in a stressful world. You have a lot to get done each day, and that can leave you feeling tired. You have to find ways to take a break so that you can get some of that energy back.
Think about what you like to do and carve out time in your schedule to do it. Working out helps as well. Research shows that it can cut back on the amount of stress you feel.
